Bianca Kempe, Vancouver, BC, Canada, Since 2011
I am part of a community of passionate young people who know our mission on this Earth is to make positive change. Born in British Columbia to German immigrants, I was raised with three amazing siblings, all of us fortunate to live in a beautiful country where the sky is the limit. My heritage has allowed me the opportunity to visit the amazing sights of Europe many times, times spent reconnecting with family and friends as well as embarking on my own adventures around the continent. Falling in love with the Portuguese Algarve and settling there for several months only to start my first business venture in a small town called Lagos. This incredible experience was fuel for my entrepreneurial spirit.
I will be graduating in November 2012 from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce. For months I have been torn between pursuing a role in the corporate world – the “responsible” route – and actually following my passion, specifically, to make a positive difference in this global unsustainable world. I have chosen to follow my heart. Why? Because I have more to give. Yes, it’s a scary path, but what is a life worth living?
Coming to this work is a magical tale all its own, one to be shared another day save to say that it began over two years ago. However, it is living this story assures me that there is a cosmic essence working in our lives. I want to be a social architect, a social entrepreneur, an intrepeneur within the Mereon organization, my job to attract Generation Y. Many of them are already on task, working together to make a positive difference, becoming and co-creating the change we want to see in the world we live in.
How? Mereon is showing us a new way. Today and every day is the beginning of an incredible journey!
