"What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is inconceivable." Joseph Addison
Yesterday I was disappointed to discover that long and beautiful flower box on my terrace is a 'no grow zone', filled in with mesh and a layer of beautiful river stones.
Solution oriented, I headed to the market in search of a creative fix that would let me beautify the space. Thankfully, I found simple wire baskets that hang from the railing and float over the rocks. With the Ticino sunshine and long drinks of water, my purple and white Platycodon they will soon make the holders invisible!
For years my red geraniums were honoured as 'best of house' in Luzern [admittedly due to a secret that I never gave away]. Ready for a change of colour, the purple and white blossoms against the deep blue lago, and green trees and mountains combine to provide wind under my wings.
Life is too short and too long to wait for someone else to bring you flowers.
What will you do for yourself today to cultivate joy?
